I have a problem with my CD drives. When I put any kind
of a CD in either drive...the computer hangs and I get
a "Explorer (not responding)" message when I hit
Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Was working fine until my computer froze on formatting of
a new CD. Now I get this every time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Possibly a hardware problem with your CD - try using an ordinary CD lens
cleaner on it

Try this..

Start/Settings/ControlPanel/System.. then DeviceMangler, then open the "+"
for the CDROM item, then highlight your CDROM entry and click on
"Properties". There, uncheck "DMA".

Hope this helps!
