I cannot delete anything without my system freezing. I
actually got an "unstable" message once, but I usually
have to turn off the power. CTRL ALT DEL does not work.

For C-A-D not working:

Check and see if TaskManager is loading.
START/Run/msconfig
Check in the Startup tab.

Check your keyboard:
1. Highlight something in this post, and press Ctrl+Insert to copy. Move
your cursor to the end of this post, hit Shift+Insert to paste.
Did it paste?
2. If it worked, then highlight what you just pasted into Notepad and press
the Delete key under the Insert key.
Did it delete?
3. Open something like Notepad. Press Alt+F4 to close. Did it close?
If any one of these steps failed, then you have a bad keyboard.

The 'biggey' here being step #2. If that failed, you may be able to pry
the Delete key cap off, clean and replace. In fact, turn your keyboard
upside down, shake it and tap it.....you may be surprised at the detritus
that falls out.
Heirloom, old and hope that's it
