View Full Version : Broadband using ADSL Modem
I have been using broadband for the last one year.
Once in a while when I disconnect the connection, I get
this error - Tapisrv has caused an error in
RPCRT4.dll. Tapisrv will now cclose.
If you continue to to experience problem try restarting
your computer -
Which is what I have to do id I want to reconnect to the
ISP.
Cannot find any thing on knowledge base on this

Ram,
After searching on Google for your error message it seems that this is
an elusive issue to solve. One post indicates an issue with Outlook
Express, another with DUN , another suggests updating the driver for the
modem, or extracting another copy of RPCRT4.dll .
Advise to start with this one :

One final thought ... have you scanned your system lately with an up to
date AV ?

I had exactly this problem and was pleased to find this posting. The Outlook Express solution worked for me, so thanks MowGreen for the link. Just one point, when I put the messages back in the newly created Inbox, the problem recurred. I have therefore left the messages archived and now have a nice relatively empty Inbox and Tapisrv is happy!
