Win ME

formated hard drive installed ME. When system boots i get
5 beeps and then i will get sytem protection error. you
must restart windows. system halted. this is on a blue
screen. iwould appreciate anyones help.

Yours is, most likely an AMI Bios, as it is the only one that has a beep
code of 5 beeps. The beep codes will vary with a different Bios. Five
beeps usually indicates a process failure. Try reseating the memory and
rebooting. If that doesn't help, you should consider another motherboard.
You could probably get away with just replacing the CPU, but that may or may
not be cost-effective.

I've found on the net it looks like the cpu and or the
board are the cause of the problem.
