Mike,

Why not post details of the problem such as what you are trying to install and
at what stage you encounter a problem? Also if this is new, what changes have
you made since you last visited the Windows Update site without problems (if
that is indeed where you are having problems)?

You receive the 0x80070485 initialization error message while the
Windows Update Web site is loading
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=836923

The above KB article refers to the .cab file . The error message
you're receiving , 0x80072F76 , is listed on the Windows Update
Troubleshooter page :

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/
Under : Problem reaching Windows Update
See : While the Windows Update Web site is loading, you receive
Initialization Error 0x80072F76

" This is a blocking issue. The client computer is unable to
connect to a component of the Windows Update site. Most likely this
is due to misconfigured proxy/firewall settings,
incorrect DNS entries or some application running on the client
computer that interacts with Web connections and is blocking the
connection. "

Try the suggested resolutions on the Troubleshooter page. If they do
not resolve the issue please post back here with the last 20 or so
lines of the Windows Update.log. It is located in the WINDOWS folder
and can be viewed with Notepad.
