My Dell laptop has a persistent problem when it's been on
for a while. Screen goes blue and freezes and II getk thand
I get this message:
KEBUGCHECK:
called by c002b698
Error code is 40
System Halted.

Anybody familiar with this or how to fix it?

Thanks, all.

Hi Joe,

KeBugCheck is a debugging tool used in the development of
device drivers. The KeBugCheckEx routine brings down the
system in a controlled manner when the caller discovers an
unrecoverable inconsistency that would corrupt the system if
the caller continued to run. We maybe not in this case. <g>

After doing a Google search I found that the Visioneer Paperport
scanner may be the cause. Do you have one installed? If not the
next best possibility is a Printer. Either way the fix would be to update
the device driver for that particular peace of hardware.
