Recently read an article on Win98 SE unofficial SP 1.5
posted by an independent developer. Read it at site

I liked advertised pros mostly regarding a better USB
support and decided to give it a try. I installed the
package and liked the few changes I noticed at first
glance before going to bed that night.
Now I'm paying a price for it but hopefully a minor issue
vs. the benefits published, my PC hangs up when shooting
down. The screen goes blank (black) as usual before
everything turns off but it never really goes off having
to do it manually (on/off switch). The irritating part of
this is the scanning drive C process every time it's
turned back on.
Well now I'm here looking for your help to get this
corrected.
Already checked for outdated/corrupted drivers finding
every one is reported 'working correctly'.
I suspect of some sort of prgm.-system incompatibility or
a fault at the system registry.
Any comment/sugestion that can lead me to pin-point
where/how to start to isolate or correct this is welcomed.
In advance, thanx...
