Please look for info. on "Memory Leak". It appears to be
your problem. Program strings are left in RAM due to
sloppy shutdowns. Each Shutdown adds to the loss of usable
memory, until the system comes to a crash or hang. To test
reboot the unit and see the increase in response.
Look for "RAM Rocket" via search. Small s/w to reset
memory.

Hi Fred,
As I mentioned in my previous post, try the link I referred to, and do a
thorough "clean up" on your machine.
And PLEASE, don't resort to crapware/garbage/snake oil/useless P.O.S. like
RAM Rocket--totally bogus software that they actually want you to pay money
for.
I wouldn't use it under any circumstances, even for free. None of the
MS-MVP's would use it either.

One quick thing to try is to move (most) everything out of the My Documents
folder into another folder and see if it helps.
There is sometimes a problem if you have around 100+ folders in My Documents
that causes slow openings.
You can always move them back if it doesn't help.
