>Sherry,i've seen Anti-virus programs cause machines to
have difficulty shutting down.If you have one(and u
should),i would shut it down first before trying to shut
down Windows.Find the Anti-Virus icon in the system
tray,right click and then shutdown(or disable,etc).Then
try shutting down.I assume the tech just reloaded Windows
on top of what you had.Hope you didn't pay him,you could
have done the same. The vsdata95.vxd is in the
Windows\System directory.According to Microsoft,Having any
Zone Alarm software on your system can cause this.See the

I believe vsdata95.vxd is part of Zone Alarm.
It is usually found in C:\Windows\System

Usually it causes problems when there is an incomplete uninstall of ZA.
This is one of the keys in the Registry that refers to it
HKEY_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Vxd\Vsdata95.vxd
If you don't have ZA anymore and are comfortable using the Registry, go into
it and delete the Vsdata95 portion of that key.
(When you go into the Registry and get down to the Vxd portion, expand it
and scroll down to the Vsdata95 key and delete it)
Usually it is a good idea to backup your Registry first.

Put vsdata95.vxd in the search box of Google and you will get much
info.
Try going to the Symantec website and searc for the complete uninstall of
the version of ZA you had on your machine.
It is usually a problem in your System.ini file or an undeleted entry in
your Registry that is causing problems.
I really doubt if that tech did a fresh install, he probably just installed
Windows over itself and that is why the problem remains.
