defragment

Hi all,

I am having problems with my defragment. I used to be able
to defragment before I had to reboot and re-download
recovery disk. Since then unable to defrag.

I keep getting the message...error in c drive.Please use
skan disk to correct etc...

I do this and scan disk runs through and corrects the
errors but defragment says error id no. defragment004.
Once it has run through to about 10% then says error and
it gives id no: defragment00205.

What is going on? And why will it not work?

Run Scandisk from a boot to DOS.
