View Full Version : Scandisk failes... Crosslinked .SYS file Folders... System works!

June 4th 04, 04:06 AM
I just put Mcafee on to my dismay... Slow my machine way down... Removed it using Add/Remove... Now my Scandisk fails but completes... When I look at the SCANDISK.LOG, it tells me my C:\Windows\History and C:\Windows\Temporary Internent Files folders are cross linked and I need to delete them... These are .SYS files and Windows won't let me do that! This also causes Defrag to fail... I have tried all the tricks I know to no avail... Well, short of re-installing... Not shure if the problem is in the FAT or something that Widows 98 just can't fix with Scandisk... It is frustrating no less... If anyone has any answers, please write me at !

do a disk cleanup
or delete manually, temp internet files are not .sys files
