My son has a Dell Inspiron 7500 that originally shipped with Win 98 SE.
Later we purchased a full retail version of XP Pro for it. As you might
guess, the machine got a little out of date and he eventually purchased a
new one.
I tinker around and build PCs out of spare parts and am always looking for
an available OS. I'm wondering if I can put the original Win 98 SE back on
the old laptop. I could then give it to my granddaughter and use XP on one
of my "mongrel" PCs.
Does Microsoft still provide online updates or access to all of the updates
that have previously been produced?
