I am installing an additonal 120gb hard disk to my Win
98SE system. Should I or must I partition it? What are the
advantages of partitoning?

Well, you must have at least one partition. Beyond that, its a matter of
personal preference regarding how you want to organize your stuff - data,
applications, etc.

there are some more trade-offs to consider
have a look at Ron Badours page

Every disk MUST have at least one partition.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize it was going to be so
subjective.

I have four partition on a 40 gb drive. I don't have tons of
software. I still have about 25 gb left

1 running windows 98se
2 windows xp
3 No Os
4 No Os

Used to be
1 windows 98se
2 windows me
3 windows xp
4 no os.

One day maybe
1 windows 98se
2 no oses.

All formatted as fat32

I tried linux. It works as well. Don't have a modem that works with
linux.

I don't understand your response. I was looking for info
on pros/cons of partitioning a fairly large disk.

Disregard Then. I was just telling you what I have.

It actually up to you. Far as speed. It does not make a difference
like it use to for old systems.

But the my opinion
