I just purchased a new HP tx2510us tablet PC

CPU 2.1 Ghz
RAM 3Gig
Vista OS

Have comcast internet
Max range Netgear wireless router

I was told this was fast enough to do basic work like surfing the net,
emails etc. even if i had 10 browser pages open all at once.

However I seem to be getting a "not responding" message on my
firefox / Mozilla page CONSTANTLY.
This is going on all the time.

The page keeps hanging for a long time.

Has anyone faced a similar situation and solved the issue ?

Please help me.

Thanks
Rita

This is neither a Windows Vista nor a Firefox support forum. Try these ones
instead (and regular users of the newsgroups will appreciate it very much if
you do not use Google Groups to post. You have a new reader built right into
your Vista system as part of Windows Mail. Just click here for the main
Vista group:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.vista.general

Perhaps others here who use Firefox can recommend forums that are
appropriate for Firefox discussions. I don't use it and so can't recommend
any, unless maybe the ones here:

Repost with details e.g. what version of Mozilla Firefox you
installed under Win98. IIRR WinXP now uses Firefox 2.0.0.16
but Mozilla recommends v.1.???? for Win98.

Don, FYI, I am using the latest version of Mozilla Firefox with 98 Second
Edition and it works fine so you don't have to worry about using the latest
version of 2.0.0.16 for 98 Second Edition. I have not tried version 3.x for
Windows XP Professional because I am truly a legacy user even before
security. <grin>

Your system is plenty fast and beefy enough to do what you want.
One easy thing to try is to uninstall and reinstall FireFox.
First, go to the Mozilla website and download and save the latest ver of
FireFox to a folder you can find easily.
Now uninstall FireFox and then reboot. Install the new FireFox and see what
happens.
This whole procedure shouldn't take more than around 10 min.
If this doesn't solve the problem, then it probably is a problem with your
ISP and/or your router and/or your modem.
You will probably have more luck on a Vista or FireFox newsgroup or even one
that deals with your router.

Additionally, it may help also to use REGEDIT (if sure of what
you are doing) to search for and remove all Firefox keys. I just
did this to get out of the "Unresponsive script" error viz.
1. DL Firefox to software bank.
2. Uninstal Firefox
3. REGEDIT to remove all Firefox keys
4. Instal new Firefox.
This works for me i.e. starts v.2.0.0.16 with no "Unresponsive script"
delays.
