View Full Version : Fatal Exception 0E occurring

Help. I keep having everything stop and the blue screen
with "Fatal exception 0E has occurred at 017F:BFF9DFFF.
The current application will be terminated". Then when it
closes down, its caught in a loop of some kind, saying it
can't save to the C: drive and data will be lost and I
can't get it to shut down at all when following the
instructions. That has been happening for a couple days.

Now, today at boot up, I got the message"WHile
initializing device IOS:
Error: An I/O subsystem driver failed to load. Either a
file in the .\oisubsys subdirectory is corrupt, or the
system is low on Memory."

After getting out somehow and turning everything off,
later in the day it booted up OK and I'm still on here but
any minute I expect to get the blue screen and another
fatal exception message.
How bad is it and what do I need to do?
I have an NEC
Pentium III
500 speed
RAM 96MB
Windows 98 SE

Thanks for any help.

Nancy,
We have the same Error, I beleive I stopped mine problem.
I have been trying to find it for months. Do you have an
Ethernet card? Windows Power Management was turning off my
ethernet or Network adapter card.
I did not realize there was a setting for the card.

Go to System in your control panel. Under "device manager
scroll down to "Network Adapter" select your card, mine
was (D-link DFE-530TX + PCI adapter) go to 'properties'
See if Power management is turning off your card. I "un-
selected "allow computer to turn off this deveice to save
power".
