Trying to install software from sony mp3 player

The software provided with the mp3 player won't install
because I don't have windows 98 second edition. I
currently have windows 98. Do I have to buy a new version
of windows to install the software.

Yes, you do. Check eBay or a similar outlet as Windows 98 Second Edition
has not been available at retail for some time now.
