Have you tried Scandisk before defragging? To run scandisk:
Start > Run, type scandskw and scandisk will appear. Then,
scan the drive that hangs during defrag, using the exaustive
scan (I don't know how is it called in english edition).
After scandisking, do a disk cleaning. To do that: Start >
> Run and type cleanmgr
Select all categories and proceed.
Now, try to defrag the disk.


P.S.: To write spaces, select a space in any text, such as in
this message, press CTRL+C to copy it and paste it with CTRL +
+ V when you need to put a space. Maybe hard, but works.
