Shelly - please stick with the original thread where you posted this.
You're getting good answers there and you need to stick with the folks who
are already trying to help you fix it.

Glen,
I tried Alan's ideas (other message on same topic that I
saw after I posted this) I tried but could not open it
from the actual file under window/system. Then I used my
CD and extracted the file but nothing happens. It must
be corrupt . I thought extracting it from the CD would
overwirte it but it did not work.
any other ideas?

Shelley,

No real idea what is going on here but have you tried deleting
Msconfig.exe and then extracting a new copy? (It shouldn't make any
difference, but won't hurt)

Exactly what happens when you double-click the file itself?
(C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSCONFIG.EXE)

Do you have a problem launching any other .exe files?

....Alan
