PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Help please, I recently purchased a Compaq presario
laptop 1277. It had windows 98 loaded unto it. I went
ahead and erased the partition. I was trying to load a
different windows but to no luck. Now the cd-rom won't
work and I cannot load the operating system. please
someone help!!!!!!!!Thank You......

It sounds like your boot disk doesn't have CD-ROM drivers. Go to
www.bootdisk.com and make a new boot disk (all their boot disks
include CD-ROM drivers). Make sure you select the Windows version
you are installing.

First off you would need a boot disk with CD support as suggested by George.
Secondly, you may be creating a big headache by loading another OS on a laptop. Most
of your problems may/will stem from the proprietary setup of the laptop and hardware.
