repost/usb port

My typing skills are atrocious! How do I check to see if
the USB port is turned on (working) in Windows 98? I have
installed a new printer which uses only USB cable and
there is no communication between computer and printer.

In Control Panel / System / Device Manager you should have Universal Serial
Bus Controllers, with at least one Root Hub and one Host Controller. If the
devices aren't installed, then you might have to turn on USB in the machine
BIOS.
