SOMETIMES WHEN I TRY TO OPEN A FILE ON THE INTERNET IT
WILL NOT OPEN AND A BOX POPS-UP THAT SAYS MICROSOFT
CONNECTION MANAGER THEN INSIDE THE BOX IT SAYS THAT THE
SERVICE PROFILE IS DAMAGED--REINSTALL THE SERVICE PROFILE.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE??? I AM A COMPUTER NOVICE. PLEASE
MAKE IT AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE FOR ME TO FIX.

THANK YOU!!!

Please turn off the CAPS LOCK key.

If you are using MSN, uninstall it from Add\Remove Programs, and then reinstall it.

Please note that besides MSN, there are other dialers and connection managers that
can also cause the error....see here for an example -
http://ftp.cac.psu.edu/access/cd/windows/dialup/psudlw2k.htm

If you do not use MSN:
-Remove MSN in ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in the Control Panel, if it is there.
-Open Regedit (Start>Run>Regedit)
-Browse to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Connection Manager
-Right Click on the Connection Manager key and delete it.
