Have you asked this in a Word or Office group, as I suggested the first time you
posted this? This group is for Win98.apps, and Word is not a Win98 app....it is
part of MS Office.

It is a Microsoft word issue but the error message has to
do with the "Windows 98 installer package". How do I know
if it's an office issue or an operating system issue? I
tried your other suggestions and was still unable to get
it resolved. I'll post this in an office forum...Thank you
for your help...

An Office forum is your best bet, I would think, as the second error you mention re:
Word is likely to have been seen before; and it is an Installer issue involving
Word.

Let us know if you get it resolved.
