Ok, I've done that, and I've followed the detailed uninstall/reinstall
instructions as per the FAQ, and the PC is no longer crashing/Blue Screening
(thankyou!). When I insert the USB key after having installed and restarted,
the "Building Hardware Info database" dialogue completed without crashing.
However, the drive is still not appearing in "My Computer".

I just bought a Memorex (1gb) and just plugged it in. Win98
found the drivers and it worked perfectly. Didn't have to do
anything.

Not sure about SanDisk products but I had a similar problem with
our MicroAdvantage brand. It worked fine on my son's Win XP
PC but I found that to use it with Win98 it required and install/drivers
which I was able to get from their site.

I just bought a Memorex (1gb) and just plugged it in. Win98
found the drivers and it worked perfectly. So you might check
with SanDisk and see if they have a driver or maybe an updated
driver for your model..........Good Luck

Hi, I have a WalMart MobilMate 256MB USB flash drive, which is actually a
SanDisk Cruzer Mini / Micro 256MB flash drive. They have a Win98 driver on
their web site for this device, but after I installed it I got the same BSOD,
and error message you wrote about below. On the SanDisk website, I drilled
down to "Support / FAQs -> Info Page -> USB flash drives -> chose "Wal-Mart"
-> "Wal-Mart MobilMate" -> Then clicked on "Installation of Cruzer Micro
driver is not working or driver suddenly stopped working." (Answer id: 275).
I followed the steps described, then retried the flash drive. It appeared to
be getting somewhere when I got the BSOD and error message again. Now... I
followed the steps listed by your support rep in the case you pasted into
your post below, rebooted, and suddenly my flash drive is working. I don't
know what really fixed the problem, but those are the steps I took.
Hope this helps someone.
