i can log onto the network but not access the internet

I have a computer that will not find the ip address
subnet and gateway for my network. it comes up with some
off the wall addresses.So when i force them it goes on to
the domain and works with the net work but does not
access the internet.I installed another pc at the same
time same make (a twin) and it went right on and found
the ip adderess and others and works with no problems. If
you can please help.jbr
