Just installed a wireless network , win98 on Base station router [DSL],
and winXP on Receiver card. Connection and speed is fine, but both
computers are "ON" 24/7. My question is, can I use the "Power- saving
mode" on both computers, or just the receiving one,or none? Does anyone
have a recommendation, or is it just personal preference?

There's probably no reason not to use standby modes on the WinXP computer.
Whether or not it will work well on your Win98 computer probably depends on
the network adapter and DSL service. Some don't mind standby mode, others
will read it as a disconnect and may cause crankiness in re-connecting.
