We a simple network. 1 xp pro PC and one win 98 PC. Both can
see each other on shared resources and have worked OK for ages.. Now we
added a new XP pro PC to the network
but this new XP Pro PC cannot see the win98 pc at all on shared resources.
Yet the win 98 can easily browse the new XP Pro PC.
Thanks
Richard

Try accessing the win 98 on the new xp pro by typing the 98 computer's
name in the Start | Run box in this format:

\\computer

Try opening My Network Places, clicking "Add a network place", and
browsing to a shared disk or folder on win 98.

Thanks Steve,
Tried both those - "network path is not found"
Strange because it is listed there as a PC in the network workgroup but when
try to get to it it refuses
I tested on the "working" xp and it works just fine so I have no explanation
!!!??
