wol558.vxd error

I reformatted a drive and downloaded all the Windows
Critical Updates. Everything was fine until I downloaded
an Intel driver update. Now when I reboot the machine, I
get a wol588.vxd error, and the machine just hangs. Help!
This is Win98 SE.

i would boot to DOS, find and replace the file with the one on the CD-Rom.
