Hi all!
I'm new here, and I dont know anything about computers, so
please bear with me. I will try to be as specific as I
possibly can.
-hard drive crashed on old computer, windows 98SE Gateway
Astro..bought used hard drive with windows 98 installed.
Tried to install hp printer/scanner/copier all in one,
however it needed true color? not sure exactly, but the
color wasnt right and couldnt get it to change to what the
printer needed.
-hubby (who is the one doing all this) says he uninstalled
the windows that came on used hard drive, and used restore
disk that was from original hard drive.
-At this point, windows doesnt recognize usb
keyboard/mouse, so we tried serial keyboard, but it didnt
work either..
-hubby says that keyboard/mouse work in BIOS? and DOS but
cant figure why they dont once we get to the Windows logon
screen.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, and I hope
that I gave enough info.

TIA!!! :)
Monica

I've also eneountered similar problmes.Win 98 SE could
detect the USB keyboard & mouse in SAFE Mode but not in
Normal Mode.Couldn't update driver in Devic eManager.
Hope to see a solution soon.

Well I am almost relieved to see that I am not the only
one with this problem...however, my hubby has since
contacted Gateway, and they told him that we needed to get
a new OS; my hubby disagrees since we never had a problem
with it before..I guess we will just have to wait and see!
