I have just (for the first time in my life) formatted my
sons pc. I did it though fdisk and all seemed fine. What
I did not understand is that it completely wipes out all
the drivers. However, once windows 98 was installed
again, most of the bits and pieces were automatically
detected, monitor, keyboard, mouse etc. However there are
a couple of things wrong still....When windows opens, it
tells me it has found a pci multimeader audio device and
pci card. It then prompts me to install the drivers (as
windows 98 cannot find them. I have tried all my discs
but none work.I thought I could download them from the
internet (having tried every disc I have) but although
there is a modem it isnt working either......
2.The modem has not been picked up by windows. I have
tried installing this with all the discs I have, but none
seems relevant or helpful. I actually ventured inside
the machine and found the modem but there is nothing on
it except 'made in China' and VRM V1.2
I have tried searching the net but nothing helps.

Are the two things related? Is the PCI thing the same
thing as a modem? What would you suggest I do now?
(except never venture this far again!!)
Hope you can help (not too technical stuff please) thanks
again. Marsha.
