I went to "bootdisk.com" and downloaded a Windows Me startup disk but it
doesn't work, any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ray

Try again and this time don't copy the image to the floppy disk but double
click on the image file and follow the prompts.

You knew exactly what I did wrong, this time I chose 'Run' and the
extraction to my floppy worked, I booted from the floppy and followed
Microsoft's instructions to fix my missing "msvcrt.dll" problem and
everything is just hunky-dory again, my old Dell's 10,000 rpm SCSI drive is
singing again! :-) Thanks for all of your help Mike!

Ray,

Well just a wild guess as I know the images from bootdisk.com are usually
OK. <vbg>

Now that's good to read. I'm glad to read that everything is now back
running as it should be.
