My Samsung ML-1710 USB connected laser printer driver installed fine. The
printer is shown as "ready". However, whenever I try and print anything it
fails with a "USB error" (no details).

Is there a straightforward way to reinstall USB on Win98SE?

Anyone else have this problem and know how to solve it?

Many thanks.

Is usb enabled in bios. Quite a few of the motherboards used to have usb
disabled in bios by default.

You can check in device manager to see if usb actually is activated.

Yes it is. I think it is something in the stack of DLLs that manage USB.
