A friend has a mess of icons in his QuickLaunch bar, some
more than once. The same shortcut icons are on the
desktop. When I try to help him clear the QuickLaunch
area, the corresponding icons also disappear from the
desktop. We can't replace the QuickLaunch icons that are
required, including Show Desktop, without a desktop icon
also appearing. They appear to be locked together. How
can we separate them?
