display freezing problem

whenever i try to change my display settings i click on
display then settings. When i do this my computer freezes
and i cant do anything but restart. I cant change my
color so its stuck on 16 bit or something and i need to
change it. Any help>?

DEFINITELY a driver issue. Go into Control
Panel>System>Device Manager and delete your anything
under display adaptors. Then when you reboot your system
it'll prompt that Windows has found new hardware (your
video card). Use downloaded drivers or drivers from the
cd that are up-to-date and install those. Everything
should be a-ok. (i ran into this prob before)
