In Windows 98 how do I get in to change the refresh rates
for my Monitor which is flickering. I need step by step
directions.

Right-click a blank part of the Desktop and choose Properties and Settings
and Advanced. If your system supports setting the refresh rate it will be
under the Adapter tab. Not all systems support the option, and in some cases
you need to run a special utility supplied as part of the video card, or you
need to select a "Custom" or similar option in the Advanced panel.

Are you sure that's the correct tab? On 2 of my machines it's under the Monitor tab.

I checked on my machine, and it's under Adapter. However, it is an option
that the adapter driver adds to the display properties applet, so it could
appear anywhere. Adapter or Custom seem to be the most common, but I've got
to agree that Monitor would be more logical. Perhaps the better suggestion
is just to hunt for it under all the tabs!
