ICONS

Hello:

I run windows 98. The icons in the quick launch are
black, as are the icons in the program menu. Everything
in the desktop is fine. The other afflicted area is when
I open a program in Word/Excel or any other program. All
icons are just black squares. What is the problem?

If the desktop icons were affected, then it would be a problem with the
shelliconcache file; however, since they are not, I suspect a repair of
IE5.5/6 (as appropriate) may help. Control panel, add remove programs,
highlight IE, click remove and on the resulting screen, choose repair.
