Display error message

I have installed a new graphics card (128 Mb ATI Radeon
9200). Recently my computer display "locked" in 640x480
and when I try to change the display settings I get the
following error:

An error occurred while Windows was working with the
control panel file C:\Windows\System\Desk.cpl

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks.

Try reinstalling the display adapter driver: control panel, system, device
manager, double click display adapter, double click your adapter, driver tab
and update driver button.
