If I reformat my hard drive and reinstall Windows 98 SE, will I still be able
to get the updates from the Windows update site? I'm not sure if Windows 98
is no longer supported with updates. Also, does anyone think it is necessary
to get all the critical updates? Thanks in advance!

You can still get Win98 and Win98SE updates from Microsoft:

From this site you choose which operating system you want updates to
download:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp

This is their Win98 site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/downloads/default.asp

Clicking on the Windows 98 Downloads icon on the above site gets you to this
site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/downloads/corporate.asp

A third party created this unofficial service pack for Win98SE. I've tried
it and was happy with it.
