lost colors in my screen

Hello,
i suddenly lost the colors of my screen.
My screen has now 16 colors and nothing can be seen.
I tried but failed to repair.It is always with 16 colors only.
I am using win 98se, vga 17'' screen
Any help?

Reinstall the driver for your video card. Check with the manufacturer of
your computer to see that you have the most recent drivers.
