When I try to surf the net I can only splash around for
awhile then IE stops responding or I get this page cannot,
etc. Also I'll get this page etc, if I change desktops. I
have to reboot and start all over. I've
updated,reinstalled,downloaded and checked for adware,
etc.I've also printed out Sandi's advice.(4 pages)and
followed it as close as I could.( it's hard when this
thing locks up halfway through a download.) If your out
there Sandi or Lucky, throw me a rope.Thanks,Bob.(Gone from
general discussion to general confusion. Still working on
mystery.)

For advice specific to problems with secure sites, have a look at the first
link - for general advice, have a look at the second:

http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers2.htm#secure_sites
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers.htm#dns

You may simply have a corrupt cache.

Thanks.I'll try.It doe's seem that any time I try to get
to a recommended site I get a page can't be displayed
message. cws says I have some kind of worm that won't let
me get to anti adware sites. It even says that something is
trying to stop it from running. Thanks Bob, hc@gc

I tried first site. got page cannot be displayed. I have
recently did everything but reformat. Iv'e reinstalled
windows from a different disc.( messed up my product
code,it shows mine in one spot and borrowed one in
another),deleted all users, IE,and every removable program
that I could then started over. I'll try whatever you say
to do. Thanks Bob, hc@gc
