I have scandisked, defragged, etc. etc. to no avail. I
have disabled Norton, also. This happened after I
downloaded all critical updates and Windows 98 updates
except the "NET" for software and the multiple languages
offered.

Experiencing these 2 problems:
1. This one causes IE to shutdown - *very* frustrating:
"IEXPLORE caused a general protection fault in module
USER.EXE at 001e:00001473.

2. At startup, I receive the following message box:
WJView Error:
Unable to locate system class:
java/lang/Object

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

User.exe errors:

The second problem may be related to Sun Java. Have you tried their
technical support?
