I am hoping someone can help me with the content advisor
for Internet explorer 6 with win 98 (1st). I do not
remember putting a passward in for the content advisor and
am afraid my old roomate my have done it as a 'joke'. I
there anyway I can work around this? It just suddenly
started giving me problems after I cleared the cookies,
temp file, ran registry checker, adaware, scan disk, and
internet explorer repair tool (I run all the but the last
every week or two). I have never had a problem when doing
these tasks before, but now find myself unable to do to My
MSN page with-out the content advisor popping up and
asking for a password. Any help would be greatly
appreciated!

Content Advisor - Go here:

Here’s the basic procedure, but refer to the link above if you need
more detail: Go to Start|Run and then enter "regedit" (without the
quotes). and then navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\Ratings

Select the "Key" entry in the right-hand pane and
Delete it. Now go to Registry|Exit to close Regedit.

Now you’ll be able to disable Content Advisor by opening IE6 and going
to Tools|Internet Options|Content. Click on "Disable". Then click
on "OK" when you’re asked for a password - don’t enter anything.
OK out and CA is disabled.

If you wish to restore Content Advisor to its original condition
(because of your kids) you can obtain a Microsoft program
(CA-Reset.exe - 89.5K) to do this here:

line 283) NOTE: Using CA-Reset will completely delete your Approved
List - everything starts like brand new, so consider this before you
use it.
