Web site access problems

I have encountered a problem during the last week that has got me confused. When I try to access a few web sites that I regularly visit, the connection is made but is broken within the next 2 seconds with I.E. closing completely.

The problem only occurs with a few web sites but I don't know what the problem can be. I'm running I.E. 6 which I've had for a long time.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

If it is only occuring with a few web sites, how about you advise what those
sites are so that I can test them?
