at start up I get the error message could not find "ocraware.exe." fallowed
by a message saying to remove something from win.ini file. How do I get rid
of this message?

I believe that is a function of Omnipage Limited Edition and perhaps some
other Omnipage products having to do with the optical character recognition
function.

If you have the software, you might try going into Tools or Settings and
disabling ocraware.

Post back if this doesn't work.

/ start / run / SYSEDIT.EXE
and look first in the WIN.INI file.
Any command can be disabled either by removing
it or by typing
;
(semicolon & space)
at the left end of its line.

OCRAWARE is Optical Character Recognition,
e.g. distributed free with Umax brand scanners.
