View Full Version : USB ports

February 8th 05, 07:01 PM
I am trying to help my sister. She has Win98. She is having trouble with a
printer connected to a USB port.

I don't know how to release the port without the icon in the system tray as
in WinXP.

Where do I go to remove the hardware?

Thanks
Theresa

Win98 doesn't have a release option. Just pull out the USB plug.

Then don't unplug the printer from the USB port, if you want to use it, and it works
when it is plugged in. What is your reason for wanting to unplug it? I have a USB
printer on one of my computers, and it is left plugged into the USB port all the
time. If you need more available ports, get an inexpensive USB hub to add them
externally.
