i installed this critical update and now whenever i open
explorer i get an error message that says i can send the
error report to microsoft; big deal! i am not able to use
explorer at any site except microsoft and prior to the
update i had no problem. please help me! i was able to
find some info about removing the error reporting, but it
involves messing w/something in the registry; i know
nothing about computers but the word registry scares me so
i don't know if i should try to disable this myself.

You can try repairing it by using the following steps...( THIS WILL NOT
REMOVE IE 6)

1. open the control panel and and go into the add and remove programs
2. find internet explorer 6 and highlight it
3. click on the add/remove button then a screen will come up and make sure
the little dot is in REPAIR INTERNET EXPLORER
4. then click OK and follow any prompts it says
5. try to open the browser

Hope That works

Christy,

It is a big deal. That error message can tell me exactly what is wrong with
your computer, and then I will be able to tell you how to fix it. There
will be a details button or link in the error window. Use it and provide
more information please.
