I once used Ghost to restore an image of Windows C Drive (created earlier)
back to its location in windows, but it restored on another one and I lost
all my MP3s. Running second time in real DOS mode worked fine.

Is it safe to use Norton Ghost on ME?
It is said on this NG that Norton products are not compatible with ME or
they should not be use al all.

Any suggestion?

Symantec Ghost 2003 is a fine product and has no problems on FAT32 nor with WinME.

Your use was wrong. If there are files to restore, you use the utility Ghost Explorer to
extract files and or directories from an image to their original location. Restoring an
image will overwrite EVERTHING on the destination location.
