Cannot delete any files

[Roger Withnell]

If I try to delete any file on the desktop or via Explorer, I get the
message "Cannot delete (filename): access is denied. The source file may be
in use".

This problem exists in Safe Mode also, when only Explorer is running.

Any help very much appreciated.

Which specific files are you trying to delete? Word Documents? SYstem files?

It may be exactly as it says "File in use, access denied".

I cannot delete any file.

Even in Safe Mode, with only Explorer running, I cannot delete any file,
Word or otherwise.

I'd appreciate your advice.
