I've just switched from WinME to WinXP.Pro and I don't know anything about
it. How do I sign on to WinXP newsgroups? I apologize for what I'm sure
is a 'dumb' question! ;) Thanks bobg

bobg,

In exactly the same way as you're accessing this newsgroup but instead
look for the microsoft.public.windowsxp.* hierarchy rather than
microsoft.public.windowsme.*

You might however prefer to use the Microsoft news server
(msnews.microsoft.com) rather than accessing the newsgroups via Supernews.

try microsoft.public.windowsxp.general or alt.windows-XP or alt.os.windows-xp

The latter are "unofficial" and mostly spam or no activity...the first one is the
microsoft hosted one on news.microsoft.com

Subscribe to the NG as you would with any other.

There is also microsoft.public.windows.general (or similar name, for all Windows
versions) so subscribe to both/all.
