View Full Version : shellexe (not responding)

A few days ago a file called "shell.exe" mysteriously appeared on my desktop.
I deleted it, thinking it was some sort of spyware. Since then, each time I
boot up, my system hangs. When I hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete a window opens that says
"shellexe (not responding)". I choose "End Task" and am then able to use my
computer. What's going on and how do I solve this problem? I also noticed
that the "shell.exe" file is missing from the "System" folder, but the name
"shell.exe" is still there. Thank you very much!
