When i changed color settings and restarted my computer i got a message
something like
'windows are running in selective startup for troubleshooting'. What does
it mean? do i need to fix it?

It just means that you are, in fact, using Selective Startup. There is a
little checkbox in the lower lefthand corner of the message window, next to
which, it says something like 'don't show me this message anymore'......put
a checkmark in the box by placing your cursor in the box and left click.
Note: If you make another change in MSCONFIG, you will again get the
message window....use the same procedure to stop it.
Heirloom, old and use it too

Yes, you may have disabled an item that requires to be left-alone.
